Helping Local Students Save For College.
Southern Surgical Arts is helping three local students achieve their educational goals. Our Wisdom For Wisdom program will provide free wisdom teeth removal procedures to these deserving students so they can save more money for the costs of college. This year’s recipients are John Mark, Eliza, and Carmen.
John Mark, age 18 from Tyler, plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin. As he applied for colleges, he quickly learned about the cost and started applying for scholarships and other programs to help him achieve his goal of graduating debt free. Dr. Charles Stone will perform John Mark’s wisdom teeth removal procedure.
Eliza, age 18 from Tyler, graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and plans to attend Auburn University. In her application she said, “I continue to apply for every scholarship available and work throughout the school year and summer at my part-time job. I strove throughout the year to raise my GPA, build my resume, and ultimately, prepare for my college experience. Receiving the Wisdom For Wisdom scholarship would be incredibly impactful in starting my college experience at Auburn University.” Dr. Brian Stone will help Eliza achieve her academic goals by performing her procedure.
Carmen, age 18 from Flint, attends East Texas Christian Academy and plans to go to Tyler Junior College to become a mechanical and electrical engineer. When applying for the Wisdom For Wisdom program, Carmen said, “With my teeth in pain from growing, it has been an obstacle in my success. During my virtual classes, I am not able to concentrate or I have to pardon myself from my classes, which causes problems when doing my schoolwork. If my teeth were to be removed I believe that my grades would soar and I could graduate with high honors.” Dr. Wade Barker will perform this procedure and help alleviate Carmen’s pain.
