Giving a Member of Our Community a Second Chance to Smile
The team at Southern Surgical Arts is proud to announce that this year’s Second Chance program recipient is Cynthia from Palestine.
Cynthia works as a school secretary and is the mother of six. Her oral health began to deteriorate when she was diagnosed with Lupus. Her treatments involved both medications and chemotherapy that made her teeth fragile and brittle. She now lives in constant pain and is unable to eat the many foods that once helped her maintain a healthy diet. In her application, she said, “Restoring my smile is important to me because it has caused my self-esteem to go down. I am very embarrassed with my smile and this has caused a lot of discomfort for me every day. I cannot eat some things due to not having teeth.” She went on to say that her “smile has made it hard for me to communicate with people like I would like to, due to the embarrassment.”
We hope that providing Cynthia with a full-arch restoration will help to transform her health and give her the renewed confidence to do the things she loves with her children, including attending school events and other public activities.
Full-Arch Restoration
What is Full-Arch Restoration? Full-arch restoration is a life-changing procedure for patients who need to replace an entire upper and/or lower arch of teeth. Full-arch restoration is an incredibly efficient and effective way to replace multiple missing or failing teeth and is a great option for patients who are looking for an alternative to removable dentures.
